Is there an autistic writing process? Is there an autistic writing style? These questions, and others, have fueled my investigations and research.

Curiouser and

curiouser!

Julie Brown, PhD is the author of Writers on the Spectrum: How Autism and Asperger Syndrome have Influenced Literary Writing (London: Jessica Kingsley Publishers, 2010).  She has spoken widely about this fascinating topic at both literature and psychology conferences throughout the US and Europe.

She has taught college and university classes on "Autism in Literature" that explore writing by and about people with autism.  These courses are a meaningful way for teachers, counselors, parents, and students on the spectrum to learn more about autistic culture and the multi-faceted expression of neurodiversity in poems, stories, novels, and autobiography.
